Taverna Trela is owned by Bobby Orfanos.

He is struggling to keep his Greek tavern from going under.

Taverna Trela was opened six years now by Bobby and his father.

They were very successful in the beginning.

A year ago, Bobby’s father sadly passed away.

Bobby misses his dad a lot.

Bobby is afraid and overwhelmed because he isn’t sure he can do what his father did.

People stopped coming in, and revenue has gone down a lot.

Bobby is in debt and owes $400,000.

Bobby thinks they can only last a few more months.

Everyone is depending on Bobby to keep this restaurant alive.

Robert arrives and says that he is looking forward to this rescue.

He says that Greek restaurants usually treat you like family.

This restaurant does not feel like family to him.

The lighting is very dull and there is nothing that says Greece to him.

Robert calls Bobby into the restaurant and asks what exactly this restaurant is.

They sit for a discussion of the restaurant he tells him that the rent is $12,000.

Bobby also has unpaid tax debt.

His house is in his wife’s name.

Bobby has three daughters and they come in when he needs it.

Robert asks why he is failing.

Bobby says he has bad staff that have never been trained.

Robert tells Bobby he feels like he doesn’t want to be here.

Robert says he wants to see the service.

Bobby says he has let everything go too far.

Robert says it’s very clear that the staff hasn’t been trained.

He tells them they need to put on gloves when handling food.

The gas suddenly gets cut off mid service.

There is a gas bill for $5,500 that hasn’t been paid so the company shut it off.

Bobby will now have to tell the customers that there will be no food.

He didn’t have the money to pay the gas bill but knew Robert was coming for a month.

Bobby is working on paying the bill.

Robert meets with the staff and tells them this was the worst service he’s ever seen.

He tells them to sit down because it is going to take a while.

One of the staff members says that Bobby makes it impossible for any of them to do their job.

Haleigh says that Tara works 13–14-hour shifts.

Bobby makes her feel like her role isn’t her actual job.

He’ll take over her manager role mid shift.

Robert confronts Bobby about this information.

Robert meets with his design team of Lynn and Tom to discuss the remodel.

The staff and volunteers begin taking everything out of the restaurant.

Bobby gets a little emotional when Robert takes down the picture of his father.

Robert says he wishes he could’ve met Bobby’s dad.

The gas is back on after the bill has been paid.

Robert wants to try three of the dishes from the menu.

Bobby says he will prove to Robert that he can do this.

Robert doesn’t like the food and thinks it is awful.

Robert says if this is the best Bobby’s got then he should leave.

He challenges Bobby to make him something from the heart.

Their food and labor costs are good but they just need to bring in business.

Robert tries the dish Bobby made for him.

This time, it was so much better.

Robert loves it and asks why he doesn’t cook like this all the time.

Robert invites Bobby’s daughter Christina to find out more.

Christina thinks that Bobby is trying to fill in his father’s shoes.

The stress and his health issues are too much.

Bobby has diabetes and needs to take the time to focus on his health.

He can’t do this as he’s too busy with the restaurant.

Robert wants to know what is making him feel like he has to overextend himself.

The next day, Robert arrives and meets Bobby.

Bobby was asked to make a list of everything he does throughout the day.

Robert wants to show Bobby that it is impossible for him to do everything.

He needs to delegate and lead the staff.

Bobby says he is ready to fix the restaurant and he trusts his staff.

Robert shows Bobby his take on the original dishes.

Robert uses fresh ingredients to make them.

These new versions of the recipes are low on food costs and taste amazing.

Bobby loves the new food and thanks Robert for sticking by him.

The construction team begins making the finishing touches to the restaurant.

Robert is setting the tables.

They are an hour and a half later than planned.

Bobby says he was devastated when Robert told him he doesn’t like the restaurant.

Robert walks him into the restaurant.

Bobby is amazed by how great the restaurant looks and wishes his dad was there.

Bobby grabs some plates and breaks them in honor of his father.

Bobby invites the customers into the restaurant for the first time since the remodel.

On relaunch, the customers love the changes.

Everything is going smoothly.

Bobby is successfully handling a busy restaurant so far.

The customers love the food, and they all plan on coming back.

Robert hopes Bobby will take care of himself first and then his restaurant.

What Happened Next at Taverna Trela?

A few months after Roberts visit, sales are up 15%.

Bobby is delegating to his staff and they are doing well.

Bobby still isn’t taking care of his health as much as he should.

He promises it will be a priority going forward.
