MasterChef US Season 2 aired June 06 to August 16, 2011 on Fox Network.

There were 18 contestants and the prize for the winner was $250,000 and a MasterChef trophy.



MasterChef US season 2 features MasterChef judges Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot and Joe Bastianich testing the culinary skills of amateur chefs from the USA.

They undertake a number of challenges and dishes to prepare, with those failing to impress being sent home.

There was no cookbook deal for this season.



Adrien Nieto Adrien Nieto was a server from Ventura, California.

Adrien was runner up in season 2 after beating Jennifer in the earlier challenges in the finale.

After MasterChef, Adrien did several appearances at local restaurants and pop up kitchens.

He featured in cookery events and demonstrations in California.

Adrien was a Chef at Frank Underground, the restaurant owned by Jennie Kelley and Ben Starr.

Adrien is now a private chef.

He also offers pop up dining experiences.

Alejandra Schrader Alejandra Schrader was an Architect/Urban Planner from Playa del Rey, California.

She was eliminated in episode 13 after she served raw pork.

After MasterChef, Alejandra became a private chef/caterer.

She offered cooking classes and catering for small groups.

She has appeared on cookery segments on several local and national tv channels.

Alejandra published The Low-Carbon Cookbook.

She is a founding member of non-profit Chefs' Manifesto.

Alejandra is a public speaker and speaks on reducing food waste.

Alvin Schultz Alvin Schultz was a Retail Manager from Houston, Texas.

He was eliminated in episode 7 after his deep fried coffee and donuts dish failed to impress.

After MasterChef, Alvin started Eat.Drink.EXPERIENCE!

They offer private dining experiences.

Alvin is a restaurant consultant.

He has done several pop up dining events, alone and with co-hosts.

Alvin did an event with Christine from MasterChef season 3.

Angel Moore-Soukkay Angel Moore-Soukkay was a Property Manager from Columbus, Ohio.

She was eliminated in episode 5 after her fruit tart and custard dish wasn't able to be served.

After MasterChef, Angel did several live cookery events.

She started a channel of YouTube cooking videos.

Angel is a Personal chef, specialising in Keto.

Tony Scruggs Tony Scruggs was a Trucker from Grant Park, Illinois.

He was eliminated in episode 6 after his ravioli failed to impress.

After MasterChef, Tony briefly ran a catering company Wrigleyville Catering.

They specialised in barbecue foods.

Tony opened his first restaurant called Old Crow Smokehouse in 2013.

Reviews were very positive.

Tony responded positively criticism and the very few negative reviews.

Tony sadly passed away in April 2024.

Ben Starr Ben Starr was a Travel Writer from Dallas, Texas.

He was eliminated in episode 17 after he overcooked his venison dish but was praised by Gordon.

After MasterChef, an article was published claiming that Ben had said that the show was fake.

His intention was to remind people not to judge contestants based on footage that had been edited.

Ben was a food blogger and vlogger on YouTube.

He opened restaurant Frank Underground with season 2 contestant Jennie Kelley.

The restaurant had positive reviews.

Frank Underground closed in July 2019.

Christian Collins Christian Collins was a Stay at Home Dad from Gloucester, Massachusetts.

He was eliminated in episode 19 after his veal dish failed to impress the judges.

After MasterChef, Christian did several cookery events.

He was the host of the Culinary Fight Club in Boston.

Christian opened a catering business.

He took part in the 2024 World Food Championships and is taking part again in 2025.

Christine Corley Christine Corley was a Single Mum from Sopchoppy, Florida.

She was eliminated in episode 15 after her tomato soup and grilled goats cheese sandwich failed to impress the judges.

After MasterChef, Christine was a line chef.

She later launched a private chef services business.

Christine returned to College to study for a degree in Criminal Justice/Corrections.

In June 2019, she was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and was deemed terminal.

She has continued to suffer from health issues.

Derrick Prince Derrick Prince was a Web Designer and blogger from West Babylon, New York.

He was eliminated in episode 15 after his tomato soup and cheese toastie dish was deemed too simple by Gordon.

After MasterChef, Derrick published recipes on his blog.

Derrick was Chef de Cuisine at The Stanton Social.

He later became Chef de Cuisine at VANDAL in New York.

Derrick is currently the Chef de Cuisine at Beauty & Essex.

He appeared as a guest on The Grindhouse Radio.

Erryn Cobb Erryn Cobb worked in PR and was from Chicago, Illinois.

He was eliminated in episode 11 after he over burnt the steak during a challenge involving truffles.

After MasterChef, Erryn returned to his company Fetch Public Relations LLC.

He was CEO and Co-owner until 2023.

Erryn is Strategy & Execution at causeFX.

Esther Kang Esther Kang was a Lawyer from Los Angeles, California.

She was eliminated in episode 10 after she failing to impress with baking tasks during a cocktail party challenge.

After MasterChef, Esther returned to her career in law.

She became SVP of Business and Legal Affairs at Lionsgate.

Esther is currently Head of Business & Legal at Avalon Entertainment.

Giuseppe Morisco Giuseppe Morisco was a Salesman from Chicago, Illinois.

He was eliminated in episode 12 after he under cooked his eggs in an Eggs Benedict challenge but received high praise from Gordon.

After MasterChef, Giuseppe became a private chef.

He also launched a cooking holiday company called Food Lover Retreats.

Giuseppe opened his first restaurant Morisco Ristorante Italiano in Davao City.

It had excellent reviews but closed within a year.

Giuseppe is currently living in Costa Rica, where he is a private chef.

Jennie Kelley Jennie Kelley was a musician from Dallas, Texas.

She was eliminated in episode 9 after failing to impress after an elimination challenge which saw them cooking a dish from Whitney's cookbook.

After MasterChef, Jennie opened her first restaurant Frank Underground.

She opened the restaurant with contestant Ben Starr.

Frank closed in July 2019.

She is a blogger at The Perfect Bite.

Jennie offered pop up dining experiences through Better Half Popup with her partner Brandon Moore.

In 2023, they opened restaurant Fond Dallas.

Reviews are excellent.

Jennifer Behm Jennifer Behm was a Realtor from Wilmington, Delaware.

Jennifer was the MasterChef Season 2 winner after her three course dinner consisting of scallops, quail and a poached pear impressed the judges.

After MasterChef, Jennifer did several cookery events and demonstrations.

Jennifer started her own catering company called Pink Martini Catering.

In 2015, she opened restaurant Red Fin Crudo.

She opened the restaurant with her husband Julio.

The restaurant closed in July 2020.

The owners started offering private chef services.

Jennifer appeared in MasterChef season 10 alongside other past winners.

Mark Raffaelli Mark Raffaelli was a Realtor from Chicago, Illinois.

He was eliminated in episode 5 after there was raw flour in his mashed potato.

After MasterChef, Mark returned to his career in real estate.

Mark was a real estate agent at Compass.

He is now an independant realtor.

Max Kramer Max Kramer was a College Student from New York City.

He was eliminated in episode 8 after a pressure test of cooking steak three different ways - rare, medium and well done.

After MasterChef, Max returned to college to complete his degree.

In 2017, he was photographed with Donald Trump at his golf club.

Max is now an entrepeneur.

He specialises in technology for law enforcement officers.

Suzy Singh Suzy Singh was a Neural Engineer from Chicago, Illinois.

She was eliminated in episode 18 after her lemon meringue pie failed to impress the judges.

After MasterChef, Suzy started a private chef and food consultancy business.

In 2013, she was hired as Research and Development Corporate Chef at NOW Foods.

Tracy Kontos Tracy Kontos was a Sales Consultant from Coral Springs, Florida.

She was eliminated in episode 16 after she failed to prepare and cook a whole salmon but was praised by Gordon and promised some culinary training.

After MasterChef, Tracy interned at a number of well known restaurants.

She later launched her own catering company.

Tracy started WILFS, a community for women working in the food industry.

She is currently a Private Chef in the Los Angeles area.

Tracy offers dining experiences, cookery classes and more.
