Brunos Gordon Ramsays Secret Service

In this Gordon Ramsay's Secret Service episode, Gordon Ramsay visits Bruno's in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Bruno's is owned by Tim Bruno.

Gordon arrives at night and enters the restaurant with a hidden key.

After he enters, he encounters dead mice, which is not a good sign.

The booths in the restaurant area are old and there are years of dirt hidden underneath.

He uses the blue light in the kitchen and it glows due to the unsanitary surfaces.

The grease pan is appalling and he takes several samples to examine under a microscope.

In the walk-in freezer, the temperature is lukewarm and there is meat sitting in water.

The next morning, Gordon watches them from his surveillance van.

The staff all think they are on a different reality TV show.

Tim opened the restaurant in 1989.

He learned to cook as the business grew but it looks like he still has a long way to go.

His son Nick studied history but decided to help his father and cooks in the kitchen.

They do not see eye to eye on the business.

Brie works at the restaurant and also dates Nick.

AnnMarie is a server, who has been at the business as long as Tim.

As the business gets busy, communication breaks down between all of the staff.

They have handwritten tickets that no one can read, so mistakes are made.

Gordon watches them use a spatula to cook after using it to clean the grease trap gutter, which is unsanitary.

Questionable beef is used in their dishes, which makes Gordon nervous.

Gordon sends in Sammi and Rock as his spies and tells them to ask for vegetarian dishes.

They order and give feedback on the state of the dinner, which is in need of a lot of improvement.

The mozzarella sticks are served with meat sauce and have to be taken back because it is supposed to be a vegetarian dish.

Vegetarian dishes are cooked right beside meat dishes.

The spies get feedback that there are meat juices all over their food.

Customers complain about raw meat dishes that have to be sent back.

Gordon is forced to reveal himself and closes down the service.

When Gordon gives them feedback, Tim and Nick are resistant.

The ATP test for cleanliness shuts them up due to the very poor result.

When asked why the restaurant is in a state, Tim gives excuses and Nick tries to defend him.

Gordon tells them to clean up while he leaves and watches them start cleaning.

They start questioning who the insider is.

Gordon goes back to tell them to actually remove the booths for deep cleaning.

The next day, Gordon takes Tim and Nick to a baseball field for a bonding session as they are both big baseball fans.

In a one-on-one with Tim, Gordon finds it hard to get a word in as he does not listen and constantly talks over him.

Gordon invites two baseball legends who transitioned to coaching to talk to Tim.

They talk about transitioning so that Nick can take over the business.

They give him words of advice and then the Phillies mascot comes out to join them.

The father and son then spend some time together throwing the ball.

Tim finally says he will trust his son more.

After some time of cleaning and remodeling, Gordon's team has finished.

The staff are let into the restaurant and it looks new, fresh and clean.

They are moved to tears at what Gordons team have done.

Gordon tells them they also now have a POS system.

There is a smaller menu with the sample dishes on display.

Gordon spends some time with Nick to teach him the basics of cooking.

Nick appreciates the attention as he never went to culinary school.

Afterwards, Gordon reveals the insider is Brie.

She loves the business and the owner like they are family.

Out of concern, she called Gordon for help.

Tim and Nick hug her and appreciate that she decided to call on Gordon.

The staff then prepare for the reopening and customers come in.

On relaunch, Nick is expediting and cooking, instructing his father.

The new process is working as the POS machine is spitting tickets nonstop.

Nick keeps to pace and Tim is listening as they cook together.

The food is great and customers are happy with the ambiance and the food.


What Happened Next at Bruno's?

Bruno's is open.

Tim says that they have had more customers coming in.

He claims that the mouse was not there.

Tim was not happy about being lied to about the premise of the show.

Reviews are mixed.

Some customers loved the food and service.

Other customers aren't happy with the raised prices.

As with all restaurants on the show there are a number of fake reviews.

Bruno's aired on the 6th August 2025.
