Next Level Chef US Season 1 Where are they now

Next Level Chef US Season 1 aired from 2nd January 2022 to 2nd March 2022.

It aired on Fox Network and there were 15 contestants.

The chefs compete to be named the Next Level Chef by competing in cookery challenges.

If the contestants do well they move up a level and when they perform poorly they drop levels.

The prize for the winner was mentorship by all three mentors and $250,000 cash.

In this season, the mentors were Gordon Ramsay, Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais.

Ae Southammavong Ae Southammavong was a Social media chef from Laos.

She was mentored by Richard Blais.

She was eliminated in episode 8 after her bacon drunken noodles were voted to be the worst dish.

After Next Level Chef, Ae returned to her howntown in Laos.

She has made an Indie documentary about her journey in the culinary world.

Ae sells products branded with her name online.

She also continues to share food content on social media.


Amber Rebold Amber Rebold was a Home cook from San Antonio, Texas.

She was mentored by Nyesha Arrington.

She was eliminated in episode 6 after her rib eye dish was voted to be the worst dish.

After Next Level Chef, Amber is a Private Chef.

She gives private dining experiences including charDUDErie nights.

She also offers personalised Cameo videos.

Amber also works at Vereigen Media as an Account Director.


Angie Ragan Angie Ragan was a Home cook from Lubbock, Texas.

She was mentored by Nyesha Arrington.

She was eliminated in episode 10 after her filet mignon dish did not land her in the final.

She was praised for her calm under pressure.

After Next Level Chef, Angie is a Caterer and Private Chef, trading as Salt by Angie.

She also offers pre-prepared meals and does pop up dinners.


Courtney Brown Courtney Brown was a Private Chef from Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was mentored by Richard Blais.

She was eliminated in episode 10 after her ribeye dish did not land her in the final.

She was praised for her self awareness and skill.

After Next Level Chef, Courtney is a Baker and Private Chef.

She cooks for entertainers, coaches, professional athletes and their families.

Courtney also offers cookies via mail and private dining experiences.


Devonnie Black Devonnie Black was a Home cook from Bronx, New York.

She was mentored by Gordon Ramsay.

She was eliminated in episode 5 after her ahi tuna burger was the worst dish.

After Next Level Chef, Devonnie is a private chef.

She was a Technical Specialist at Apple.

Devonnie went on to work as a Patron Services Lead at Seattle Rep.

She has returned to her role as a Technical Specialist at Apple.

Devonnie is also a host on Romance Recs Podcast.


Gary Marandola Gary Marandola was a Social media chef from Johnston, Rhode Island.

He was mentored by Richard Blais.

He was eliminated in episode 2 after his pork dish was the worst dish.

After Next Level Chef, Gary is a YouTuber.

He also sells merchandise for his channel and BBQ rubs online.

Gary also sells short videos on Cameo.


Jonathan Harrison Jonathan Harrison was a Home cook from Columbiana, Alabama.

He was mentored by Richard Blais.

He was eliminated in episode 7 after his shrimp and grits dish wasn't the top dish.

After Next Level Chef, Jonathan is a content creator and social media chef.

He also hosted pop up dining events.

Jonathan is also a Private Chef, cooking for families in Alabama.

He cooked for the charity World Central Kitchen, travelling to Poland to cook for refugees.

Jonathan is also a Culinary Consultant.


Kenny Everett Kenny Everett was a Professional chef from St Louis, Missouri.

He was mentored by Gordon Ramsay.

He was eliminated in episode 10 after his duck dish failed to earn him a place in the final.

He was praised for his growth throughout the process.

After Next Level Chef, Kenny is a Private Chef.

He offers private dining and catering, cooking classes and consulting.

Kenny is currently Exective Chef at Southside Sporting Club.


Mariah Scott Mariah Scott was a Professional chef from Santa Clara, California.

She was mentored by Richard Blaise.

She was a Next Level Chef season 1 runner up.

Her filet and fondant potatoes dish saw her lose to Pyet as the potatoes were slightly undercooked.

Her chicken lollipops also received high praise.

After Next Level Chef, Mariah is a Private chef.

She cooks for several high profile clients.

Mariah is also a food blogger.

She also hosts and attends culinary events.

Mariah is now a Professor in Culinary Arts.


Stephanie Pyet Despain Pyet DeSpain was a Social media chef from Kansas City, Kansas.

She was mentored by Nyesha Arrington.

She was the Next Level Chef Season 1 winner.

She won after her lamb with fingerling potatoes dish was loved by the mentors.

Her empanadas also received high praise but her fish dish was lacking something.

After Next Level Chef, Pyet is a travelling Private Chef as Pyet's Plate.

She offers private event catering, cooking demonstrations and key note speaking.

She is also a food blogger and sells branded products in her online shop.

Pyet had a pop up as chef in residence at Abernathy's.

She appeared on Tournament of Champions in both season 5 and 6.


Reuel Vincent Reuel Vincent was a Professional chef from Trinidad and Tobago.

He was mentored by Gordon Ramsay.

He was a Next Level Chef season 1 runner up with Mariah.

His rib cap dish with pomme souffles saw him lose to Pyet as it needed more seasoning.

His fish dish was praised as the best of the three finalists but his appetiser was deemed the worst.

After Next Level Chef, Reuel worked at at ASPIRE, in the One World Observator where was Executive Chef.

He has been promoted and now oversees all culinary operations across the restaurants.

Reuel also takes part in cookery events, giving cooking demonstrations.


Roice Bethel Roice Bethel was a Social media chef from Corona, California.

He was mentored by Gordon Ramsay.

He was eliminated in episode 3 after his thai shrimp dish was the worst dish.

After Next Level Chef, Roice has continued to be a social media chef.

He is popular on multiple platforms including Instagram and TikTok.

Roice went viral for his tips on cooking bacon.


Sergio Steele Sergio Steele was a Professional chef from Trinidad and Tobago.

He was mentored by Nyesha Arrington.

He was eliminated in episode 4 after his chicken and sage dish was the worst dish.

After Next Level Chef, Sergio offers Celebrity Catering and Private Chef services.

He does weddings, corporate events and private dinners.

Sergio is also owner of White Gold seasoning.


Tricia Wang Tricia Wang was a Social media chef from China.

She was mentored by Gordon Ramsay.

She was eliminated in episode 9 after her rolled egg dish was the worst dish.

After Next Level Chef, Tricia is a professional chef, who cooks on Twitch.

She has also been travelling, under a sponsorship for a series called Tricia Travels.


Zach Adams Zach Adams was a Professional chef from Manila, Philippines.

He was mentored by Nyesha Arrington.

He was eliminated inepisode 7 after his shrimp and brandy dish was overcooked.

After Next Level Chef, Zach worked at Lupi & Iris as a Sous Chef.

He was a 2023 James Beard Finalist.

Zach is currently a Private Chef.

  1. I think the finalists all did well, but considering that Mariah had more “Wins” and “Safes” than all contestants, it seems only fair that she should have been the winner. And unlike some, I would NEVER want ANY meat that is red or bloody, especially lamb. I still enjoyed watching the show and learning. They all cooked better than me. Congrats to all.
